As Halloween approaches, we are definitely starting to feel a chill in the air, but don’t winterize your boat just yet, it is time to pull out the lights and get started decorating for the holiday boat parade!
The date has just been announced for Lake Gaston’s Holiday Flotilla and this is an event for the whole family that you are not going to want to miss. This year’s parade on the water will be on November 30, 2019, at 6 p.m.
Interested in Participating?
Boats line up at 5 p.m. You can decorate your boat ahead of time or gather with friends at The Pointe at Lake Gaston and decorate at the docks. Decorating your boat can be as simple or as complicated as you would like.
Register your boat by contacting our own Randall Robinson or the Lake Gaston Regional Chamber of Commerce. When you register your boat, you will receive more information on where to line up. Prizes will be awarded to the top three boats.
Looking for ideas on how to decorate? Check out this article from the Lake Gaston Gazette-Observer, where longtime participants, David Hemingway, and Randall talk about a few best practices including types of lights, generators, and more! The article is from 2017 but the decorating ideas are still relevant today.
Light Up Lake Gaston
For those coming to watch the parade, Santa will stopping by! There will also be hot chocolate and cider, live music, and more.
